600 BLOCK
We devised
our own environment based upon specific reactions to the space we
are currently living in. The city's domestic architecture and sounds
create the setting of our everyday lives. In response to "Some Space
Between" we made a photographic diorama resembling an excavation
of an archeological site. The houses have dirt spilling out of them
as well as sounds of the neighborhood. The physicality of the buildings,
the sounds emanating, as well as the smell of the dirt helped provide
a sense of control over our individual space that is rarely found
in an urban setting.
